Singer-songwriter and “accidental podcaster” Kelleigh Bannen has dropped a love story with a little extra as her new single, unleashing the swaggering retro-rock anthem “Deluxe” today (June 21).

Filled with bluesy bad-girl charm and feeling like the perfect soundtrack for strutting across a smoky barroom floor, the track is actually a study in contrast. It dives deep into lighthearted imagery all about what makes a love interest better than the rest — but does so with a bit of gritty, femme-fatale snarl.

Written by Bannen and Danielle Blakey, its cinematic lyrics call out tipping 22 percent, motel room upgrades and doing everything on “10,” all framed by chugging guitars, lo-fi vocals and a foot stomping beat.

“Deluxe” marks Bannen’s first single since 2018’s three-song EP, The Joneses, and follows her “extra”-ordinary path to stardom. Turned heads with songs like 2014’s done-me-wrong anthem “Famous,” Bannen has more recently gained a huge audience as a heart-on-her-sleeve podcast host, revealing the true experiences of an artist in Music City in This Nashville Life.
