Whether he’s breaking hearts, taking the stage or pumping iron, Music City’s Jackson Boyd always looks good doing it. The personal trainer is as focused on his fitness as he is on finding Mrs. Right, and it shows. So who better to offer up some post-holiday, pre-2019 tips for getting your best body?

Here’s what he had to say.

Consider trying a fasting diet as opposed to eating small meals throughout the day. A fasting diet is easier when it comes to preparation, and keeps you from being constantly hungry.

When in the gym, remember that lifting heavy is not nearly as important as having proper form. Focus on form, pauses and tempo first. Loading (adding more weights) will come in time.

Before going into any gym, have a well thought-out, designed plan for what your workout will be. This will help you reach your goals faster, as opposed to just freestyling what to do that day.

Remember that your fitness journey takes time. Have patience, and keep a balance in life. It’s okay to have “cheat meals,” but don’t let “cheat meals,” turn into “cheat days” or “cheat weekends.”

Can’t get enough Jackson? You’re in luck. Music City returns to CMT when season two premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 10 p.m. EST. Check out the preview below!
